Fairy Sweet, Fancy Nancy and a new do!

So much to report - SO much to report! So first up it was a big day today for Bowznstuff and the Sugar Cube! Fairy Sweet - our own personal Fairy has been revealed. Our launches are going to be so much fun now as we explore Fairy Sweet's world in the Sugar Cube! I have two new listings today - the first is little Fairy Sweet's outfit - lovingly recreated in kid size. Click here to see more.

And the second is for all those Fancy Nancy fans out there - I am so excited about Fancy Nancy's dress! Talk about fancy - the set includes the peasant top, the twirly whirly skirt, the cute apron, the flower belt which can be worn with other outfits too just like Nancy and a corsage! So now onto the new do! You might remember my obsession with the side pony - well it continues! but I've fancied it up a bit. Start with a t-part - sectioning off the front of the hair but rather than a middle part, do a side part like so. I have put the back section of the hair into an elastic to keep it out of the way.

Next up start with the front part of the hair on the side where there is the least hair and make a part and create two mini ponies.


Then move over to the front part of the hair where there is the most hair and pop that up into a high side pony - this will form the base of your style.

Now working your way around the head - working with the back section of the hair, continue parting and making little mini ponies right round the head - the size and number is totally up to you.Now the next part could be done with or without twists, it could also be done with corkscrews or braids - totally up to you. Because Hettie's hair is curly I need to do twists in a style like this because otherwise it would just all burst out. Twist each pony and secure it into your high side pony. I used the little coloured elastics to secure each mini pony so I could cut them out easily and then put one stronger elastic over the whole thing for an all day hold.
Pretty cute hey! Later on we popped in a bow and boy did it look nice!

New Do, New Listing, hopefully no new directions

First up I was very heartened to read on my fellow hair bloggers sites about the new laws and how they will affect us all - I have been very focussed on the effect on the boutique custom world, but the potential is so much greater than that. Check out Hair Today and Girly Do's and Rockin Shorty for some more detailed explanations and the appropriate links where you can do something to help.

A new do for today - something simple and based on, you guessed it LOL the side pony! Start with a diagonal part on just the front section of the head. Pin this hair to keep it out of the way and sweep the rest up into a side pony.



Then take the diagonal parted hair and do a single twist and secure it into the side pony.


I finished with a home made flower comb - pretty cute hey!

Cindy Lou Who!??

A short intermission from the curl chronicals to report on my latest mad cap hair experiment - Cindy Lou's hairstyle. I didn't want to go the full gell/product/blow dry but I was pretty pleased with the end result which was actually quite quick. Hettie's hair was pretty wild so used that to build my little bobble on top of the head.

So first step was the T-part with a high pony and then two braids at the side of the head. Loop these up and secure them. I sewed them into place with pink ribbon but pins would do just as well.


Then I took out a small section at the front of the pony and pulled the rest halfway through. Hettie's hair worked great for this because it was so knotty like I had ratted it - so if you were working with silky smooth hair you would need to do something to it to get some volume.

I then took a pipe cleaner and poked into down into the pony so that it stood up in front of the pony. I wound the bit of hair round the pipe cleaner and then folded it back down and poked it into the pony. You could still see it at the back but I didn't think that mattered all that much.
- a red bow helped hold the pipe cleaner to the bobble at the back.

And today for you hair fanatics - a new style - one of my all time FAV's coz it so simple yet so effective! I used to wear my hair like this often and it is so perfect for Hettie's hair with all its curls! So simple just three ponies one underneath the other. And the bonus is it makes the hair look so long as you don't loose any length when you put put it up in a pony. Try it out you will LOVE it!
